Dear APAS Friends and Colleagues,

First of all, I would like to pay my deepest respect and condolences for all the lives lost to COVID-19 all over the world, especially our brothers and sisters who served on the front line of pandemic management. We have all been fighting and praying for the pandemic to be over soon since the vaccination had started since earlier this year. Billions of lives have been affected by this terrible virus, from the survivors to the family members left behind, from the change of lifestyles to adoption of new habits, from social distancing to online presence. I have full confidence that together, we can get through this tragedy.

Due to the COVID pandemic and ensuing worldwide travel restrictions, we have no choice but to postpone our planned Hip & Knee Summit to August 23-27, 2022 in Bali. To fill its void and keep our education program going, we have planned a 3-day Combined APAS, ASIA & APKS Virtual Meeting which will be held on three consecutive Saturdays on July 10, 17 and 24, 2021. The meeting will be fully virtual. As the concurrent President of Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society (APAS), Arthroplasty Society in Asia (ASIA), and Asia Pacific Knee Society (APKS), it is my honor to invite you to participate at our webinar.

We have organized an excellent program with over 90 renowned speakers from USA, Europe, Australia, Asia and Middle East. The theme of the meeting is “Arthroplasty in the age of Technology”. There will be 2 separate auditoriums, each running its own program in Hip and the other in Knee topics. Aside from didactic lectures, we will also have live debates, panel discussions and most excitingly live surgeries with new technologies. Throughout our event, you will be able to visit our exhibition foyer to familiarize yourself with the latest products and technologies in orthopaedic surgeries. The program will be available for you to watch for 7 days after each webinar so you can fully enjoy both the hip and knee program we have planned for you.

Although it will not be the same as meeting face-to-face, the organizing team have prepared a special online experience that will allow everyone to interact and reconnect. This meeting will be the biggest online meeting in Asia Pacific to date. We are hoping to see many surgeons, fellows as well as residents to come and interact with the faculty. Please register at your earliest convenience so you don’t miss this exciting webinar packed with outstanding scientific programs. Just click on the Register now button you can find below.

I am looking forward to seeing you all there.

Sincerely Yours,

A/Prof. Nicolaas Budhiparama, MD, PhD
